Living in Spring Branch, TX

Spring Branch is a Hill Country community in western Comal County, along the Guadalupe River north of Bulverde and west of Canyon Lake. The small city incorporated in 2015, but the Spring Branch area is much larger, with homes, ranches and river properties spread across the surrounding hills.

Getting around

US 281 runs through Spring Branch, heading south toward Bulverde and San Antonio and north toward Blanco. SH 46 crosses the area and connects east to New Braunfels, about 21 miles away.

Things to do

  • The Guadalupe River, which borders the community, for tubing, paddling and fishing
  • Guadalupe River State Park, with river access, camping and hiking trails
  • Canyon Lake, just to the east, for boating and lake days
  • Bulverde and New Braunfels, nearby for shopping and dining

Schools

Spring Branch is served by Comal ISD. I always confirm the school assignment for a specific address.

Homes and acreage

You'll find Hill Country homes on large wooded lots, acreage and ranch properties, river properties, and newer subdivisions along US 281. Rural and river properties come with extra questions, like wells, septic, surveys, easements, ag exemptions and flood zones, and I'll help you check each one before you buy.

A little history

German settlers established Spring Branch in 1852. It's named for a spring-fed creek that flows into the Guadalupe River.
