Why is it called Brazos Valley?

The Brazos Valley gets its name from the Brazos River, which runs through the region. The term "valley" is somewhat misleading because much of the area is actually rolling plains rather than a deep valley. However, it generally refers to the geographic region in Central and East Texas that follows the Brazos River and includes cities like Bryan-College Station, home to Texas A&M University.
The Brazos Valley region of Texas is comprised of seven counties: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington.
